An incredibly diverse app, with responsible development!
This app is intended ideally for collaborative use between mental health professionals and their clients. I however use this apps customization to follow and graph my productivity (as well as causes/effects including mood, sleep, etc) as it relates to elements within my control in my daily life. I have nearly only good things to say about this app and its designers for both purposes.
Optimism has been organized to allow various viewpoints of your progress, as well as easy to export graphs/charts so that others can follow your progress as well. Together you can decide what information belongs where, whether its important to you or not, whether you need to give grades/ratings to items, etc. You can follow goals/plans, and keep daily notes alongside them. with a little tweaking, Optimism could double for a cognitive behavioral therapy planner as well.
As I use it for productivty tracking, I simply had to customize the fields accordingly (i.e.: how well i managed work today, quality of work, taking breaks, etc) the general use is the same, I only wish i had the money to hire a life coach to review it with every week :-)
My one and only wish is that there was a bit more flexibility to change the "core data" form (to make some sliders button inputs, or add/remove fields as I desired. Also Id prefer to have the option of slider ratings instead of numerical (or some numerical, others sliders) and to be able to customise colors, etc. But for the intended use of the program, i understand why such features are likely not the priorities of its developers.
They are currently running volunteer surveys on the use of this app for those who will be using it with their clinicians, and I highly recommend anyone interested in furthering the usefulness of this application to do so.
